China is faced with some enormous challenges as it enters the 21st century. In order to ensure the prosperity of our nation and its future generations we must confront and ultimately solve these challenges.
Some of the more pressing issues facing China are universal. These include environmental degradation, over population and the effects of globalization.
To overcome some of the things we need to implement include:
Enhancing our scientific and industrial technologies in such areas as IT, Bio- tech, AI and Cybernetics.
Further develop public infrastructure in under developed regions.
Promote education reform at all levels.
Introduce sustainable development initiatives.
The implementation of free trade agreement between China and ASEAN.
The benefit to China in introducing these initiatives will be significant and far-reaching. It is important to realize that these initiatives need to filter down through all elements of the society in China. For instance, cutting edge technologies and intellectual properties; the development of e-commerce based economy; an education system that encourages innovation and creativity; increased foreign investment; higher living standards; more efficient use of natural resources.
It is important for us to realize these reforms are both essential and necessary. These will help China to fulfill its vast and unrealized potential on the world stage. It will also contribute more to a globalized world of the new century.
As for the future our task is not to foresee but to enable.

In the center of Haimen, there are many shops. You can buy some nice things here. Things in most shops aren’t expensive. You can pay a little money and they are yours.
My hometown, which is in the south of × Province, is a very beautiful village. It lies on the east bank of a small river, surrounded by green mountains, In the past my hometown was poor, and people led a hard life. They couldnt afford to send their children to school. But ,great changes have taken place in my hometown in the past twenty years. Many families not only color TV sets, but also telephones, fridges, computers, and so on. New roads, houses, schools, hospitals have been built. People in my hometown are working hard for a better life.
My hometown is a beautiful city. On each of the roads, there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also very clean. They make people happy and comfortable. The seasons here are very nice. From . I like autumn best. It’s neither hot nor cold. A poem says “Flyer of summer come to my window to sing, then fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, just fall there with a sign.” It’s very cool.I love Haimen. It’s a nice place to live. Welcome to my hometown.

看完了这本书，我不禁陷入了沉思。其实我很赞同可可的观点：人与人之间本来就是需要花时间沟通交流的，而不是一遇到事情不沟通，而吵得面红耳赤的。
看到书中的爸爸妈妈，我也想到了自己。记得一次，我洗完头，没有处理好地板上的头发，就匆匆跑来看电视了。等到妈妈进去洗手间一看，顿时炸开了锅：“你给我进来，你看看地板上是什么?”我连忙拿起纸巾飞快地把地板上的头发处理掉了。妈妈把我叫到房间里对我说：“这个问题，我给你讲过好多次了，你怎么就记不住呢?这是生活细节中最起码的习惯，你怎么就养成不了呢?”听了妈妈的话，我很清楚地意识到，如果妈妈今天没坐下来和我沟通，我估计永远都没办法体会妈妈的用心良苦，甚至还会产生逆反心理，下次可能还会不断地重复同样的错误。看来沟通对于人与人的交往真的很重要。
这时，我又想起了：世界，因为有了沟通而变得异常美丽。因此，我们在生活中，要学会与人沟通。

最近我看见很多老人拉着小孩的手闯红灯;一些青年在路上谈谈笑笑，红灯一亮，他们还慢悠悠地走;一些司机为了赶时间就闯红灯。从这些小小的事情上反映了马路上的隐患无处不在，现在的这些车祸大都是因为一些人闯红灯造成的，从而破坏了交通秩序。
这些人不顾别人，只顾自己方便，真自私!他们不想想自己给他人带来不便。如果出了车祸，就堵车，上学、上班都会迟到，还浪费了宝贵的时间，受伤者又痛苦。尤其是老人拉小孩闯红灯，小孩就学会了，在这一事情上，我认为家长的教育是非常重要的，因为家长所做的事，所说的话都会影响孩子们的成长，而且有些时候就是因为家长自身的问题，导致悲剧的反复出现。
如果这样发展下去会有更多的人闯红灯，城市就会变得十分混乱，影响每一个人。
让我们从小做起，从自身做起、从小事做起，逐步养成不乱穿马路、不闯红灯、各行其道的文明出行习惯，使“文明出行”形成风气。

My topic is Honesty
As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon's tooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon's mouth.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one's error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let's be honest people of good moral character.

a common concept among some people is that opportunities are few. they always complain that opportunities never occur to them. they only admire those people who make a hit or succeed by seizing some opportunities, and always wonder why they are never given a good opportunity to show their talent.
another common notion is that there are opportunities everywhere. opportunity may occur to anybody at any time and under any circumstances as long as he/she keeps ma-ki-ng constant efforts. as a student, you can get to the top through your hard work. as a businessman, you can succeed through accurate calculation and with a complete certainty that you can make a profit.
in my opinion, opportunity favors only those who keep trying and who are ready for it. as the saying goes "god helps those who help themselves", so no matter whether there's opportunity or not, what we should do is to study, to learn and become learned people, only in this way can you seize your opportunity when it occurs. so never say there's no opportunity again, opportunities are around us.

this presidential library chronicles a vivid era in american history, for the benefit of future generations. it will contribute to the vitality of this fine city and to the great state of arkansas. the collections here record the dedication and hard work of thousands, who brought talent and idealism to public service. and at the center of that era, at the head of that administration, was an able and energetic american. president bill clinton led our country with optimism and a great affection for the american people, and that affection has been returned. he gave all to his job, and the nation gave him two terms.
in the early 1990s, the american people saw a young, well-spoken, relatively unknown governor rise to national prominence. yet for decades here in arkansas, the signs of destiny were clear. when young william entered a new school in the 4th grade, a classmate recalls, "he didn't mean to, but he just took the place over." when governor clinton declared his candidacy for president in this city, his close friends were not surprised in the least. they'd always known that bill clinton's moment in history would come.
arkansas is a state that knows political skill when you see it. a fellow in saline county was asked by his son why he liked governor clinton so much. he said, son, he'll look you in the eye, he'll shake your hand, he'll hold your baby, he'll pat your dog -- all at the same time.

我叫，现年35岁，自考大专文凭，助理会计师、助理统计师任职资格。95年7月毕业于浙江税务学校，在夹浦粮管所从事财务工作五年，20xx年买断工龄后，在平安保险驰骋、拼搏了两年后，总觉与所学专业不对口，20xx年联社招聘广告让我为之动心，经过努力，我荣幸地成为其中一员。从20xx年4月至20xx年12月我在夹浦支行从事综合柜员岗，20xx年元月调入城东支行，目前从事信贷员岗位。
也许说到这里，大家会认为：我工作经历苍白、平淡，缘何敢于竞聘支行长职务?简直是痴人说梦、异想天开!但我不这么认为，不是说“不想当将军的士兵不是好士兵”吗，我从事内外勤工作已七年半有余，在现有的工作岗位自认为轻车熟路、游刃有余，所以希望能选择一个新岗位来锻炼自己，提高自我、挑战自我，从而实现生命价值的最大化。当然，作为信贷员的我，更多的是来体验今天的竞争氛围以及学习参加竞聘的各位领导的管理理念和经营理念。
林城支行长，这个岗位让我理解可以分解为二个关注点。一是林城、二是支行长。林城镇地处长兴县西南，由原三乡一镇(原天平乡、畎桥乡、太傅乡和林城镇)撤并而成。全镇总面积128平方公里，辖20个行政村(581个承包组)，4个居委会，人口5.8万。318国道必经，高速公路设口;长兴港横穿境内，使得林城交通优势突显。多年来形成了以非金属矿业、电炉制造、新型纺织、农产品加工等四大产业为主的特色工业经济。同时林城镇也是一个农业大镇。全镇拥有双万亩梅花基地、万亩特种水产基地、千亩花卉苗木基地、2千万羽家禽养殖基地等。这就决定了我们应该以四大产业为重要目标客户，以四大基地为基本需求客户，真正、全面着力做好林城支行的存贷业务经营。
支行长属于基层管理者。作为我个人见解更侧重于是个带队人，而不是一个真正意义上的决策者。这个角色最主要的工作职责是两点：一是对内理顺员工关系、打造一支高凝聚力团队。其中内容颇多，包括绩效考核公平公开、内外勤互帮互助、单独沟通、奖罚机制等等一系列内容;二是锁定、挖掘存款目标客户、目标项目，多途径、重效果地强化贷款风险管理手段，借用信息化手段进行及时利息催讨入库。
通过反复自我评价，我认为虽然我没有从事过管理岗位，但已经基本具备担任支行长岗位的相关条件，相对而言我也具有以下素质或者说条件。
一是具备扎实的财务知识，熟悉合作银行内外勤业务，这有助于一个支行长在日常的管理工作中处理事情更加得心应手，也更好地协调内部关系、实行精细管理。
二是具备较强的人际交往能力、亲和力。参加工作十多年来，我先后从事过企业财务、保险业务、银行业务等工作。每到一处，我都能和周围同志融洽相处、打成一片。每到一个岗位，客户总会给我一个较好的评价，间接、直接地都能从客户那里听到对我亲和力地认可。这些，都有助于今后工作的顺利开展。
三是有着较强的沟通协调能力、组织管理能力。在二年的保险营销期间，由于年轻社会关系少，我总能和同事一起将陌生的客户营销成功，我从业务员做到拥有自己的团队，进而晋升为见习主任和兼职讲师，其间我还参加过拓展训练和PTT等各种培训，从中我学到了不少团队管理的经验。在平时的日常工作中，我也能尽己所能协助领导出点子、协调相关工作。
四是具备强烈的责任心和吃苦耐劳的精神。从丁甲桥到夹浦，再到新塘、陆汇头，每到一处我都尽责尽力地保证工作处于最佳状态。大额支付系统初上线时，由于系统需要，我每天都比别人晚下班一个小时，这样的状况整整持续了一年。从事信贷员至今，我对于每笔贷款都做到现场走访和外围了解相结合，珍惜和重视每一笔资金，总希望将它利用到最需要的农民朋友手中。在走千村访万户活动中，考虑新塘的贷款户大都是春节在家，为了抓住春节黄金走访时间，不惜牺牲节假日，不怕风雪严寒，确保完成高额走访率，确保做到笔笔贷款心中有数。在市七届运动会的健美操排练中，我也边上班边排练，不辞劳累，体现出自己的吃苦耐劳的精神。
四是身体健康、勤于学习。身体健康是革命的本钱。工作之余，我一直没有放松自身素质的提高，从进联社时的中专文凭，到通过自学考试获得财会专业大专文凭，再到今天的电大财会本科即将毕业，我一贯。日常的业余时间我还经常订阅金融书籍，关注金融动态，经常收看经济纠纷判例，以利于控制放贷风险。
综上所述，我认为自己已基本上具备了胜任支行长的条件，并且相信通过加倍努力，一定能够胜任这一职位。正因为相信自己，所以我来了，我说了，至于结果如何，对我不是最重要的。既然是竞争上岗，必定是多数陪榜，无论成功与否，我都会一如既往地努力工作。最后谢谢各位领导，各位评委给我一个展示自我的机会，谢谢大家!

大漠黄沙，驼铃残阳。
莫高窟，一个民族的骄傲，一个民族的悲哀。
读过余秋雨先生的《道士塔》后，我同样“好恨”。面对一场无硝烟的战争，莫高窟本能地抵抗，却无能为力，只能任眼泪流下，埋藏在沙漠里，成为历史的印迹。这凝聚了民族的悲愁的眼泪让人记住了一段不平常的历史。
在这晶莹的泪珠中，我看到一个古老民族的伤口在滴血。
岁月虽以成为旧迹，但历史又重蹈覆辙。无数“莫高窟”在哭泣，泪串成的项链不堪负重的段裂。
不仅是莫高窟，许多的文化遗产都在眼泪中一点点被埋没，消失在我们的面前。
我们是始作俑者，真正的罪人。
看那些金碧辉煌的古代建筑，却看见丑陋的字符歪歪扭扭地刻在朱红的房墙上，看那些平仄押韵的诗句，却已变成俗不可耐的“歪调”。
曾经看过一篇报道，韩国把端午节定为本国的特定节，并申报联合国。这让人匪夷所思。本是中国的节日，凭什么让韩国人抢了先?于是乎，国内舆论日益高涨，骂着韩国剽窃别国东西，似乎矛头一致的指向了韩国，确实显得韩国这样做太“厚脸皮”了。但转念一想，你中国人有那个时间与精力和别人叫嚣，何不坐下来静静想想为什么会发生这种事。在这个多元化的时代，各国间的文化交流也日益频繁。要建立具有中国特色的社会主义，建立具有中国特色的文化是其中的一项内容，“取其精华，去其糟粕”，这是建立具有中国特色文化的原则，然而中国人似乎喜欢“拿来主义”，就像是当年吃了“闭关锁国”的亏，现在要一口气补回来，不管外国的东西是好是坏，总之“开放”是没错的。于是国内“节日市场”受国外“节日市场”的冲击，忘了本，只记住了上帝的生日。
有人做过一个调查——关于端午节你了解多少。结果没几个人答得全。要问“情人节”“光棍节”“圣诞节”，一个个争先抢后。要在古代，那准被误认为“假洋鬼子”。一谈到外国节日，这厢的两眼放光，形色兴奋，不觉让人好笑。你摆出一副讨好的嘴脸是要干吗?义务宣传外国文化?有情人没情人的凑个热闹，不知道现在屈原在湖底凉不凉;2月14日街上热闹非凡，宁静的湖面上却没有一点涟漪。
是啊，比起韩国人，我们应当羞愧，起码人家还真当回事，又是上报又是庆祝，不亦乐乎。我倒还真没听说过养母甚生母这一说辞，不过在非物质文化保护方面，韩国确实比中国做的好。
再说一说“模仿秀”大国-----日本。这个“投机取巧”专靠“模仿”别人取胜的国家，曾对他的老师进犯，现在又不老实的将自己的“黑手”伸进老师的衣兜，拿走《西游记》。经加工后，此《西游记》非彼《西游记》，成了《最游记》《七龙珠》诸如此类的畅销漫画。老师生气了，斥道：“你怎么对中国文化进行无礼的恶搞?”学生支支吾吾地说：“只是人物名字相同而已，与内容无关。”且不说这是不是在对中国名着的“非礼”。但单从内容来说，日本的《最游记》《七龙珠》等诸如此类貌似改编中国名着的漫画，确实内容与《西游记》天壤之别，毫无关联，也确实只是一些叫八贼、悟空、唐三藏、悟静的人物，这和张三、李四、赵钱、孙李一样作为一个代号。八贼，悟空又不是专利名，叫张伟的也遍地有。虽说改别人老祖宗的东西是有一些大不敬，但从改编内容上看也并不算坏，要不《最游记》也不会在亚洲风靡好几年。我想某些人总不至于无聊到看见别人改自己的东西获得大成功后眼馋，心生报复吧!大家总归是文明人。不过说心里话，我宁可看这样富有创意的作品，也不愿意反反复复看一部只是由剪纸动画，到平面动画，到真人版，到3D动画，内容上却毫无变动的，单纯在炫耀动画技术发展的片子。
中国人总是情感战胜理智，总喜欢推卸责任，寻找外因。往往内因是事物变化发展的根据，不能忽视内因的存在。自家的东西被拿走只会在家门口大声嚷嚷，却也不愿意走动一步，更别说追上去要回来。自己的东西就算放在家里，腐烂了，风化了，化成灰飘走，才会有一点反应，不痛不痒的“悼念”后，该怎么样还怎么样。
我与余秋雨先生产生了共鸣，或许真的被外国人拿去了好吧。起码我们以后在某个国家还能看到这些可爱的文化遗产。我不愿看到这些文化遗产在国人的冷漠中消失。
我们的生活越富裕，这种无奈与心酸就与日俱增。物质生活不与精神文明成正比，在现在人看来，老祖宗的东西不过是封建残留物，是糟粕。崇洋媚外，不自主创新，不会弘扬民族化，遇到事情也只会吵吵嚷嚷，事情过后太阳还是从东边升起，西边落下。
莫高窟的损失，不是王道士的错，是全中国人的错;不是敦煌研究者的遗憾，是全中国人的遗憾;不是一个人的责任，是全中国人的责任。
同样的，还有多少文物在流泪?
园明圆，乐山大佛，北京胡同……
泥人儿，剪纸，元宵灯……。
端午，清明，中秋……
难道最后的话语也将被“Hello”“Baby”所代替?
莫高窟有一个就行了，同时，莫高窟的悲剧有一次也就够了。
莫高窟的眼泪在闪耀，冰冷地刺穿了我的心…。。
